The aim of this cluster is to contribute for the improvement of the quality and effectiveness of healthcare services and systems through supporting the region and other non-state actors. The cluster will support the region to address a range of quality concerns that affect our people’s health through innovation, education, research and training. We will work in collaboration with all actors to:

- Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of public healthcare delivery mainly to reduce child and maternal mortality rate
- Enhance the capacity of the regional public health institute and other operational units
- Coordinate evidence-based preparedness and response to prevent, contain and mitigate public health emergencies.
- Provide training to solve the health problems of the community.
- Support universities to train highly skilled health professionals in advanced levels.
- Contribute to the expansion of quality health care, education and research in the region.
- Support the region to control and eradication of communicable disease.
- Promoting effective communication and coordination of care
- Promoting the most effective prevention and treatment practices for the leading causes of mortality
- Working with communities to promote wide use of best practices to enable healthy living.
